For most auditors that is where the job ends, and the plant is left to find a fabricator, commission a drawing, wait, and hope the thing fits when it arrives. Statura owns the works. The finding that the audit raises can be closed by a part on the machine, under the same agreement, without a second vendor entering the site.

What is made to order
The works
Sheet metal, laser cut and fabricated by the same hands that build our mobile medical units. Made to the machine and to the floor, rather than to a catalogue size.
- Machine guards
- Fixed, hinged and interlocked fencing, made to the machine rather than adapted to it, with the interlock specified to the risk the guard is there to control.
- Access and working at height
- Platforms, walkways, stairs, handrails, toe boards and anti-skid treads, where the safe way to reach something does not currently exist.
- Cages and containment
- Gas cylinder cages, chemical stores, bunded pallets and spill containment sized to the quantity actually held.
- Cabinets and stations
- First-aid points, eyewash and emergency shower stands, protective equipment stores, lock-out stations and permit boards.
- Fire and emergency
- Extinguisher and hose stands, hydrant cabinets, assembly point boards and signage.
- Health centre fit-out
- Examination furniture, lockable pharmacy with refrigeration, ambulance-room fittings — or the whole unit, delivered as a container.
How a finding becomes a part
The sequence
- Measured on the floor
- Not from a drawing that may not match what was actually built, and not from a photograph. The dimension comes off the machine.
- Drawn and approved
- A drawing goes back to the plant before anything is cut, so what arrives is what was agreed rather than what was assumed.
- Quoted openly
- Fabrication is quoted against the drawing, at cost plus a stated margin, and appears as a separate line on the same invoice — never buried inside a retainer.
- Made and fitted
- Cut and fabricated in our own works, delivered and installed on site, and the audit finding closed against the installed part rather than against an intention.
Why this matters more than it sounds
The gap it closes
Audit findings do not usually stay open because nobody agrees with them. They stay open because closing them requires somebody to make something, and making something requires a supplier, a drawing, a purchase order and a wait. Every one of those steps is a place for the finding to stop moving.
- The report is not the control
- An audit whose findings sit open for a year has not made the plant safer. It has documented that the plant is not safe, which is a different and less useful thing.
- One accountability, all the way through
- The party that raised the finding is the party that closes it, which removes the argument about whether the specification was right.
- No other partner in this business owns a workshop
- Consultants advise, agencies staff, software reminds. None of them can pick up a spanner.
Questions
How long does a fabricated part take?
The service standard is fifteen working days from approval of the drawing to the part fitted on site, for the items listed above. Larger structural work and anything requiring a specialist certification is quoted with its own programme rather than forced into that standard.
Do you fabricate for plants that are not on a Statura contract?
The works exists to close findings raised under our own audits, and that is where it is quoted most sharply. Standalone fabrication is possible and is quoted on its own terms.
Who certifies that the guard is adequate?
The same occupational health and safety engineer whose audit raised the finding specifies it, which is the point. The specification, the drawing and the installed part are held against one name rather than three.
What if we already have a fabricator we like?
Then use them, and we will specify the part and verify the installation. Nothing about the arrangement requires the works to be involved; it exists because the wait for a fabricator is the commonest reason a finding stays open.
